Camp Rules, Procedures and Customs
  • Keep all mundane items hidden from sight, and non-period items away
from common gathering areas.  Smoking is prohibited at the feast
tables, in the camp kitchen and at fireside during a bardic circle or
    other organized gathering.

  • Engaging in period pastimes and duties in all common areas in
encouraged.  Likewise, chivalrous behavior and practice of
appropriate manners of conduct is expected of all who share the
    encampment.

  • Be responsible for your own feast gear.  Scrape and wipe dishes
before washing to keep dishwater free from food particles.  Please
wash dishes promptly and refrain from leaving food on the tables
    overnight.

  • All who share the Cliar Cu Buidhe encampment will obey the site rules.

  • All Members, Friends and guests of the Cliar will share in the camp
duties.  Once you have settled into camp, sign up on the Daily Duty
Roster in the kitchen, or report to the Chamberlain.

  • Plan on signing up on the shower schedule with a buddy, if possible,
to simplify the management of water heating and gray water disposal.
Ask for a shower orientation the first time you use the shower bead
    system.

  • Be mindful of the camp schedule, and plan accordingly.  If you are
responsible for cooking breakfast, plan to get up early.  Do not make
people late for their planned morning activities.  Please notify the
Guidwife if you are to be away from site for extended periods of time.

  • Remove your personal items from tables, etc., the night prior to
breakdown, so that those packing the major camp items do not have to
wait for them to be cleared.  Refrain from moving items that are not
    your own.

  • All common areas of the camp (perimeter and gate, kitchen and
shower, dining pavilion and fire areas) are to be set up before
personal pavilions.  Camp is to be torn down, as well, before personal
    pavilions are taken down.

  • Bring your persona to war.

  • All guests must be approved and assigned an appropriate and willing
sponsor.  It is the responsibility of the sponsor to provide the guest
with a camp orientation of the rules, customs and procedures of the
Cliar and offer gentle reminders, if necessary.  Members or Friends of
Cliar Cu Buidhe will direct all matters and concerns regarding the
guest to the sponsor only, unless the concern is urgent in nature.
